Matzah Onion Stuffing

Ingredients

2 matzahs
1/2 c. hot chicken soup
2 tbsp. oil
1 lg. onion, chopped
Salt and pepper
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/4 tsp. turmeric
1 egg, beaten


Directions

Crumble matzahs into a bowl and pour chicken soup over them.

Heat oil in a frying pan and add onion, salt, pepper, cumin and turmeric.

Cook over medium heat, stir often, until tender and golden brown.

Add to matzah mixture and let cool.

Stir in egg and taste for seasoning.

I haven't tried this recipe yet, and it sounds good. My question is about the egg. It is added uncooked to a cooled mixture with no baking or further cooking -- is this correct? Thanks! rose.
