Cheesecake is perfection, but add a little chocolate and it's even better!


2 c crushed graham crackers
1/4 c ground walnuts
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c melted butter

2 pounds cream cheese
2 t vanilla
1 1/2 c sugar
6 eggs
2 c half and half
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled


Combine all ingredients and press into 9-inch spring form pan. Press crumbs on bottom and up sides of pan to top, reserving three tablespoons for topping.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Beat together cream cheese and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually add in sugar. Stir in eggs, one at a time, and half and half. Slowly fold 3 cups of the cheese batter into cooled melted chocolate and blend. Pour the plain batter over the crust, then add the chocolate batter over, using a zigzag motion. Sprinkle crumbs over the top. Bake for 15 minutes to set the cake, then lower the temperature to 300 degrees and bake for an additional 60-70 minutes. Remove the cake from the oven and cool on a rack for at least one hour. Refrigerate until serving.
