Here's a chocolately version of cheesecake


2 c crushed Oreo cookies
2 T melted butter
1/4 c brown sugar (optional)
2 lbs. cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 c sugar, separated
2/3 c non-dairy whip, separated
2 T flour
2 vanilla
4 eggs
2 c coarsely crumbled Oreos
1/2 lb. sour cream


Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine crushed Oreos, butter and brown sugar and press into the bottom of a 10-inch spring form pan. Bake for 10 minutes and set aside.

Beat cream cheese until light and creamy. Gradually add 1 1/4 cups sugar, beating well. Mix in 1/3 cup of non-dairy whip, flour and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Beat in eggs, one at time. Pour 3 1/2 cups of the cheese batter onto crust. Sprinkle with large chunks of Oreos and then pour remaining better over cookies. Bake for 75 minutes. Remove from oven.

Meanwhile, blend sour cream, remaining 1/4 cup sugar and teaspoon of vanilla. Spread over cheesecake and bake for seven more minutes. Turn oven off but leave cheesecake inside, with door closed. After 45 minutes, remove cake from oven and cool completely on rack. Cover and chill for 8 hours. Serve.
