Get your sweetie into the romantic mood with this gourmet recipe blending sweet figs and robust Gorgonzola cheese

Ingredients

12 ripe figs
1 1/2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup Gorgonzola, crumbled
1/3 cup good-quality honey
4 pinches finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Trim away the tough portions of the stems of each fig with a parting knife. Rub the outside of each fig with extra-virgin olive oil.

Slice trough the stem and down about ¾ of an inch. Make a second cut perpendicular to the first cut, to create an X-shaped cut in the top of each fig.

Gently pry the edges of the X apart and stuff each fig with about 1 teaspoon of the Gorgonzola. Place the figs upright in a baking sheet and cook until the figs are plump and shiny, about 10 minutes.

Drizzle honey onto each serving plates and place two figs on top of the honey. Sprinkle with a pinch of chopped rosemary and the remaining Gorgonzola cheese. Serve immediately.
