A cinch to prepare, these burgers will please your waistline & the planet Ingredients1/2 c ground hazelnuts or almonds7 oz can of crushed tomatoes 14 oz can of kidney or pinto beans 1 c bread crumbs 1 T prepared tahini 1/4 t ground cumin Salt and pepper to taste |

Directions1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.2. Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender and puree until smooth. 3. Form into six burgers. If the mixture is not stiff enough to form patties, add a little more breadcrumbs. 4. Spray cookie sheet with vegetable spray and place burgers on top. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown. Serve in halved whole-wheat pitas, with lettuce and tomato, or smoother in a mushroom sauce for an alternative to Salisbury Steak. |
